Mother’s Day is the traditional date in our gardening zone to plant annuals, including vegetables, flowers, and tender herbs. In preparation for planting season, several local organizations are conducting plant sales this weekend and next. Following are a few that I have found.
Friends of Frelinghuysen Arboretum—May 2 from 9 to 4, and May 3 from noon to 4, at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum, 353 E. Hanover Ave., Morristown.
New Jersey Audubon Society — May 2 from 10 to 4, at 11 Hardscrabble Road,Bernardsville
Cross Estate Gardens — May 2 from 10 to 1, at 61 Jockey Hollow Road, Bernardsville.
Grow It Green Morristown —May 2 from 2 to 5, Grow it Green Urban Farm, 31 Hazel St., Morristown.
The Garden Club of Morristown — May 9, from 8:30 to 3, New Vernon Fire House, 22 Village Rd., New Vernon.
